Farm & Producer Notes:
Burundi may be one of Africa's smaller coffee-producing nations, but it has earned a reputation for producing some of the continent's most vibrant and complex coffees. Coffee was introduced during the colonial era and today remains one of the country's most important agricultural exports, supporting hundreds of thousands of smallholder farming families.
This lot was produced at Businde Coffee Washing Station in Kayanza Province, where approximately 650 local farming families deliver ripe coffee cherries for processing. After harvest, the coffee undergoes careful sorting, wet fermentation, washing, and drying on raised beds before export. The result is a clean, well-structured coffee that reflects the region's high elevations, fertile soils, and long-standing coffee tradition.
