Farm & Producer Notes:

COMSA (Café Orgánico Marcala S.A.) was founded in 2000 by a group of 62 Honduran coffee farmers united by a shared mission: transition away from conventional farming and embrace organic production. Just a year later, with support from the nonprofit Funder, the group earned organic certification through Bio Latina — opening doors to international markets and better prices for their coffee.

In 2006, COMSA also became Fair Trade certified, further strengthening its commitment to equity and sustainability. Today, the cooperative reinvests its Fair Trade premiums into impactful community initiatives — including school supply donations and funding teachers' salaries — all while continuing to produce some of the region’s most respected coffees.
